The price is calculated based on a minimum of 12 participants in one group. The textbook is not included in the price; you purchase it yourself at the bookstore.
Beginner I.
Contents: Slovenian alphabet and numbers; understanding and speaking/conversation about everyday topics: greeting patterns; countries, languages, and professions; food and drinks and how to order them in a restaurant; description of a house or apartment; description of a person/oneself; orientation: left, right, behind, in front; telling time; my day – description; colors; Slovenian grammar: present and past tense, cases, conjugation of some verbs, possessive pronouns.
Beginner II
Contents: Introducing oneself (name, surname, age, education, profession); people and objects; family and family members; spending time; food and drinks; clothing; how to order food in a restaurant; how to shop in a store; transportation and tourist attractions; feelings and health; services. Grammar: adjective and noun in nominative, genitive, and accusative singular, and plural; verbs in present, past, future, and conditional tense.
Beginner III
Contents: Presentation with more complex sentence patterns and description of people, writing e-mails, invitations, greetings, congratulations; weather and seasons; calendar of events and festivals; holidays and celebrations; famous Slovenians, description of the city, description of people, home, apartment, house. Grammar: verbs in present, past, and future tense; reinforcing cases, adverbs, adjective for all genders, expressing dates, possessive pronoun, gradation of adjectives, prepositions with cases.
After beginner levels I, II, III, candidates are qualified at least for the exam at the ENTRY LEVEL (A1).
Lecturer Andreja Šeško is a Slovenian language professor. She began working as an editor for a newspaper during her studies and still enjoys doing so today. She collaborated with Slovenian studies students at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Arts on two projects, imparting practical knowledge to them, and in her editorial career, she trained many novice editors. After more than 25 years of working with computers, she felt that the time had come for human interaction and to pursue her original calling – teaching. Teaching Slovenian to foreigners has become her wonderful new calling, which she thoroughly enjoys. |
